Little Miss will be turning 1 in less than a month, our little girl is growing up. And so the party planning begins....well it actually began months ago but I just started putting together all the bits and pieces. We chose a garden theme party for our little flower so we could use lots of colours and it seemed the perfect theme for the lovely weather we have at this time.
One of the 'pieces' I really wanted for her party was the letter 'H' covered in flowers. I've seen lots on etsy and Pinterest and thought I'd give it a shot and here it is.
It was so much fun to make and so easy too. I took some photos while I was making to be able to show the steps
You will need:
Piece of cardboard, cut out in the letter of your choice and in any size you like
Bunches of fake flowers
Scissors or letter opener
Can of spray paint (or any paint you prefer)
Step 1: Pull off the top of the flower from the branch and remove all the leaves
Step 2: I sprayed my cutout with a can of white spray paint in case any gaps could be seen through he flowers. You could also use green paint that matches the leaves.
Step 3: Uses scissors or a letter opener carefully poke holes through the cardboard. I just did a few at a time for the larger flowers and then filled in the gaps with leaves and smaller flowers as I went. Don't make the whole too big, you just want the plastic bit on the back of the flower to squeeze through.
Step 4:After you have covered the letter in flowers and filled in all the gaps, flip it over. I used craft super glue and put a little dollop over all the flower bits sticking out the back to keep it more firmly in place while it got moved around.
...and you are done.
Miss 2 now wants one as well for her birthday. Her words were "wow that amazing" so I think she'll be getting one as well. After the party its perfect to hang in a bedroom or kids playroom.
I'll keep posting more party crafts while I get ready for Little Miss's First Birthday or check out the Pinterest Board for the Garden Party theme
